Thawing Semen Samples
  • · Remove the sample from the canister which came in the delivery container.
  • · Check that the donor data are correct.
  • · Dry the cryotube with a sterile gauze.
  • · Gently unscrew the cap of the cryotube to release the pressure.

 

Thawing Standard Semen Samples

  • · Incubate the cryotube in a 37°C water bath for 5 minutes.
  • · If a water bath is not available, place in a thermos flask filled with 37ºC water, in a 37ºC aluminium block or in a 37ºC incubator.
  • · Dry the cryotube with a sterile gauze.
  • · Proceed with the sample analysis.

 

Thawing IUI- Ready Samples

  • · Thaw the sample in a 37°C water bath for 5 minutes.
  • · If the AID needs to be delayed, leave the cryotube at room temperature until the moment of insemination.
  • · Dry with a sterile gauze and proceed with the sample analysis.
  • · Load the sample directly into the catheter.
