Transportation.

Samples are sent in liquid nitrogen shippers (Voyager 2 from Air Liquide). These containers are homologated for transport by land and by air (according to the IATA normative). The samples are also packed with a safety seal.

These containers keep the temperature of the samples at -196ºC for a maximum of 6 days and have a Thaw Control Test system incorporated in order to guarantee their quality during transport.

A report will be sent together with the sample, which will include the recipient’s name, the blood group and phenotypic characteristics of the couple, the donor’s number, his phenotypic characteristics and the thaw control test values.

The detailed instructions for thawing are also enclosed.
